This is a different type book for my taste and I must admit, I will be looking forward to reading more from this author.The story begins with the death of a young woman`s mother. Left with only a step father and his twin sons who are all anxious to be rid of her. They head west with her dressed in rags to sell her at an auction to be taken care of by a husband and they'll be free of her. She is purchased but only as a ward, not a bride for a large sum of money to keep her from a cruel man. Not to spoil a minute of this book for you, every page is a happening. The author does give a few brief hints to take the reader to the complicated conclusion. Hope you enjoy this page turner as I have.

This story makes you laugh, encourages hope, and is a wonderfully written piece. It is everything we ladies enjoy in a romance, stirring, loving, challenges, and that hint of a repressed desire we all wish to unleash. I loved the book! Well done!
I have been a fan of the old west ever since I was a very young man. I definitely enjoyed this book and the storey and its characters. I would recommend this book to all those who like a great read and a good love storey. It will not be the last effort of the author that I will invest time in pursuing. I give it 3 1/2 stars
I love historical fiction. When it originates in my home state of Kentucky, it is even more interesting. When I read this book, it was as if I was drawn into the plot and right there with the characters. I pass the books along when they are paperbacks and encourage those with kindles to order them that way. It is always a treat to discuss books from . I will be looking for more from this author.
Liked this book it was different than most books I read the sex talk was too much for me, but I am sure it will not bother others. I just skipped over them all in all a good book
I enjoyed this romantic historical novel. The characters were well-fleshed out and the plot was fun. The book was longer than it needed to be in my opinion and the heroine willingness to forgive her family for what they did to her was beyond unbelievable. That aside, fun read and I would look for this author again.
I really enjoyed reading this story. I enjoy the 1800s and the rules that are set up for the females of the family and also the inheritance of the family fortune to the first-born male. The rejection of Jackson by Emil certainly had a lot to do with Jackson's feelings in what he did in all phases of his life. I was happy that he finally realized how much he really loved Reagan. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Reagan Dawe's step-father and twin half-brothers attempt to sell her at a rendezvous camp of traders, hunters and trappers in the Rocky mountains. Reagan is a coarse speaking, boisterous, crude female but she is also attractive beneath her dirt and ragged, ill fitting clothes. She is bought by Jackson Broussard, member of a proud, influential family in St. Louis. Jackson has intentions of taking Reagan back to St. Louis and trying to refine her so that he can marry her off so he assumes role of guardian. Of course, he wants her but knows that if he ruins her, her chances of a good marriage are ruined as well and he has no intention of marrying her.
